DREAM BOARD {08.07.2015}

dreamcatcher, sunshine, sky, sunraysI have always been an avid "dreamer." Always dreaming about my future house, future children, and well, just the future in general. Recently, I was reading a post about a woman who made herself a dream board and all the things she had "dreamed" about, she accomplished. I thought to myself, "what a great way to make goals and follow through, no matter how hard it may seem to accomplish." So, I set out to make my own Dream Board and Pinterest is one outlet to use to make/start a board but I really wanted to narrow it down.

E and I have been talking for awhile about building our first home. After living in apartments for five years, we felt it was time to start looking for a place to plant our roots and grow. We have always loved our city, it's where we met in fourth grade and we've always thought how wonderful it would be for our children to grow up in and go to school in this city.

This past Sunday, August 2, we spent some of the day touring model homes and new neighborhoods around our city. Scouting out the best deals and trying to narrow down our choices. We settled on a neighborhood and even our future home. I am really excited to watch where we will be within the next year. Our goal is to be able to put our down payment on the house in December 2015 or January 2016 and start building around February/March 2016. I'm really excited about this! I have been praying and dreaming that we might be able to get a home, and it may finally be coming true. Best part is, we aren't just buying any old home, we are building. Which means our home will be ours. We get to choose what is looks like inside and out.

I'm really looking forward to keeping you all updated on the status and I think this would be the perfect Christmas present to E and I. We have a few months left to get things in order and then fingers crossed, we will get the process started.

Here is my dream house ideas, inside and out:
I do not want a 2-story, but I love this stone style

 Dream home elevation #1
 Dream home elevation #2
 Kitchen love
 Literally drooling over this one
Can you see a pattern in my dream kitchens?

I'm really excited to share this journey with you all and as we get closer to December/January, I will let you know the status.

21 DAY FIX {06.05.2015}

Happy Friday!!!

Recently, E and I decided to take a little (but still healthy) break from the gym. Although we both miss it very much, life has just been too busy for us right now. Our plan is to start back June 28. Well, I guess really, we will be still be going to the gym but not on a strict schedule. That "strict schedule" is what will begin on June 28 when we partake in the 21 day fix!

I first heard about the 21 day fix while at the gym! It was on one of the TVs and I couldn't help but think "what a scam!" I guess that's typical for anything you see on TV where they try to sell you something...right? Well, a few weeks went by and then I heard again about the 21 day fix but this time it was from a friend. I couldn't help but start my research and found some pretty amazing results. I started thinking to myself, how hard can a 21 day fix be? It's not a diet? It's not a crazy, super intense workout planWhat the heck is it??? Well, it's basically a portion control eating program paired with 30-minute workouts a day to give you weight loss results. Some people loose up to 15-20 pounds after 1 round!
Why not give it a try? Well, that's exactly what we are doing! You're probably wondering "why are they waiting until June 28? Why not start now?" Great question! Reason for starting June 28 is simple, we want a few weeks to prep. Make sure that we have our meal ideas and grocery lists, basically everything, in order before we just jump into it. I think that's the reason so many people fail. I think it takes time to prepare for things and that's what we are doing. May sound silly, but we want to be able to stick with it and make sure we don't get burnt out.

So far, I have my menu ready and my workout plan ready but we are still trying to get E's stuff in order. I'm really excited about this new plan. Right now, my goal is to loose at least 10 pounds. I do want to take daily photos to see my progress.

T-minus 22 days until we start!!! More posts and updates on our 21 day fix journey to come.

*I do not work for the 21 Day Fix company nor am I affiliated with any company similar to this program. I am just another participant looking for results*

1/2 a Year Gone Like That!! {06.03.2013}

Wow! 6 months into the year and only 6 more to go! Can you believe it? I know I can’t!!!
So this weekend was fun and full. Friday I had to work late or “normal hours.” Usually we have the option of getting off early at 3 p.m. but we have a running schedule for certain people to stay late on Fridays and this was my Friday. After work I went home and relaxed. It was so nice to get to just be. Saturday we woke up and ran some errands, Taco Cabana to eat, Bank of America, and Shopping. When we got home, we unloaded groceries and started laundry. Our best friends called us at about 4 p.m. to go over and swim and we did!! Not for long though, some of their family showed up with little kids and we got dressed and left. We then went to grab a bite at Clay’s and came up with this idea to go on a road trip before summers end. So we started brainstorming some places and decided that on June 22 we are taking a trip up to the Frio River. Not sure if we are staying the night or just going for the day, but either way it’s going to be so fun! We left Clay’s and headed to our Amanda and Will’s house with them so Amanda and I could finish our “road trip” plans while the boys bought a game for us to play. The game they choose was Battle of the Sexes and we won – just kidding the boys won {unfair!!} We then decided to use the game in our own way and make a charades type game. It was fun! After all the fun ended, we headed home at about midnight and called it a night at 4 a.m. The next day (Sunday) we spent at home, cleaning and doing laundry. While sitting around over the weekend, I decided I wanted to go back to college to get my AAS in Graphic Design Specialization. I have to take four semesters of classwork and then I will be a graduate in May 2015! And just as an added goal {as if getting a degree to get more money it’s a “push” enough…) Erik and I have plans to save our money and take nice “graduation vacation” in June 2015! Want to know where we are going…..MAUI HAWAII!!!! I am beyond excited but the only way we are going is if I get my degree! So happy learning! We even decided that {since we are waiting to have a baby} we are turning our second bedroom at the new place into an office/study area with a “his and hers” side so that he can have his own personal desk area and I can have mine. In the center of the room, we are going to put a table with two chairs so that we can hook up the computer to the TV mounted on the wall. It’s going to be amazing! And I think that will really help motivate us. Oh, I can’t wait. Also, I snapped some pictures of the fur-babies for you to enjoy!

Here are the three desk styles we have to choose from...
