LIFE UPDATE {07.10.2017}

I feel like every time I think about Blogging, millions of other things somehow manage to make their way in front and distract me from writing, but I wanted to do a little update.

First off, it's hard to believe, but JMWR (our son), will be ONE next month! I am in awe over this kid. He has brought us so much joy and happiness, and we've truly enjoyed every second or every day with him. Currently, he has six teeth, still loves Disney music but really loves Mickey Mouse. He gets a kick out of all the Baby Einstein movies, and enjoys fruits, chicken, raviolis, chicken, eggs, but his all time favorite is PANCAKES! He can walk, but chooses to crawl in between because his legs get too tired. That's what happens when you're chunky, and if it was socially acceptable for adults to do that, you know we would!

Right now, we are in the works of planning his birthday party and trying to get all of the stuff together we will need to complete his birthday party. While we aren't sure if we are doing a big party or small, intimate party, we are eager to celebrate.  I have so many ideas, but don't want to spend a crazy amount of money if we are just doing something small. I'll update more on the party details once we figure it out.

Last time we caught up, I was staying home, but I decided that after four months, it was time to go back to work. I worked for GEICO for a while but was not happy there, and ended up returning to my old job. I LOVE it and love that JMWR gets to go to school to learn and play. While the occasional sicknesses from the other kiddos makes me regret school all together, the interaction and scheduled learning and activities, such as his finger paintings and crafts that he brings home and is so proud of, make me realize that it is a good thing and that he will benefit greatly from this early adventure in school.

Although, that's not all I've got going on, in all craziness, I am not only a Licensed Insurance Agent, I am also a Licensed Real Estate Agent in the state of Texas. I do not plan on using my Insurance license however, I am hoping that my Real Estate business grows more and more. It definitely takes work and determination to make it grow, but I am determined! In addition to my fulltime job and my Real Estate career, I also re-opened my photography business, under MeganRRichards Photography, check me out on Facebook. I have been taking classes and working hard to learn ways to keep my clients happy and provide the best service possible. I love being busy and being a mom and wife with three jobs is exhausting but so worth it. I look forward to the future and what possibilities, and doors, are available to me having each of these routes to take.

Oh, I still plan like crazy! While my planning habits are completely different, planning is the only way I stay organized with all the things going on in life. I still use the Erin Condren Life Planner, but now it is used for bill tracking and reminders of the little things that our little guy does. I also track anything I feel might help me long term, aka saving money. I plan on doing a "Plan with Me," to show others all of the ways you can plan, if you don't have the money to pay for a million stickers. While we are on the topic of planning, I think now is a great time to mention, we are officially going to Disney World! I am so darn excited, I could scream like a little girl on Christmas! I have dreamed about this day since I was a tiny little thing, and now I get to go and experience Disney magic with my own child, and my amazing husband (more on Disney in another post).

Overall, life has been FANTASTIC in every way possible. I cannot wait to share all of the fun Disney-related stuff that will make your trip amazing, and I look forward to sharing our future adventures with you.

As always, thank you for reading!

TUESDAY TREASURES {07.07.2015}

In honor of this beautifully hot Texas summer, I wanted to share some of my favorite Texas hidden gems. Maybe you've been wanting to plan a "stay-cation" but haven't figured out where you want to go. Maybe, you're like me, and are tired of driving to Galveston or Kemah and want something different. Here are five hidden gems throughout the great state of Texas.

Medina River
1. Medina River

With cypress trees, the winding and gorgeous Medina River could be called the most beautiful river in Texas. It typically doesn't attract the large crowds like the Guadalupe or Frio River, which means it's perfect for relaxation and feeling like you aren't even in Texas. The best way to access this gorgeous river is by driving to Bandera. Be sure to bring your tent or camper because you won't want to leave after one day. Also, be sure to check water reports before visiting.

139098073_62b0bed13d_b2. Jacob's Well

This gorgeous, 30-foot-deep artesian spring is growing in popularity and I know exactly why. Just looking through photos you can tell this place is the top spot for a "stay-cation." Located just north of Wimberly, Jacob's Well has become very popular with divers. Although, it is not recommended due to the amount of diver's who have lost their lives from the false exits. This would be the perfect get away and is a perfect example of a "hidden gem."

Gorman Falls3. Gorman Falls

This incredibly, dream-like hidden gem is located within Colorado Bend State Park, just northwest of Austin. With 60-foot-tall waterfalls creating a lush green canyon, this stop will remind you more of Hawaii then Texas. Although the dry seasons will likely disappoint, it's a perfect time during the summer and you don't want to miss out on all the beauty this gem has to offer.

Hamilton Pool
4. Hamilton Pool

This hidden oasis is becoming more and more popular. Located west of Austin, visitors will walk a short trail through a stream-fed canyon that will lead you to this one-of-a-kind grotto. Being that this beautiful location is known to be one of the best swimming holes in Texas, you will likely see hordes of crowds, but if you head there early enough on a weekday you will avoid the crowds and can enjoy Hamilton Pool all to yourself.

5. Krause Springs

Saving my personal favorite for last! Krause Springs is one of the absolute best hidden gems in Texas. Located in Spicewood about 30 miles west of Austin, this stunning location boast camping, a rope swing, butterfly garden, and swimming holes galore. Most weekends you will have plenty of room to enjoy some quality "stay-cation" family time, but during the holidays, such as July 4, arrive early to get your spot as Krause Springs will fill up fast. Camping in tents does not require a reservation, but if you're bringing your camper, you will need to reach out and reserve your spot. You won't regret spending a weekend or two here!

Thanks for checking out this week's edition of Tuesday Treasures.

God Bless Texas and all the beautiful hidden gems. Have you've visited one of these gems before? If not, add them to your "must visit" bucket list.

TUESDAY TREASURES {06.30.2015}

Recently, I have been crushing on local boutiques. Being that I live in Texas, there is an unbelievable amount of boutiques just waiting to be discovered. Well, I have some of my top favorites.

Junk Gypsy
Located in Round Top, TX this precious gem is the perfect stop for all your cowgirl glam needs. With boots, jewelry, bedding and home décor, the "country glam" list is endless!

Giddy Up Glamour
If you ever find yourself in the small, but amazing town of Huntsville, TX then you will absolutely need to stop here. Jewelry, clothes, shoes and so much more. You won't want to miss this!

Southern Jewlz Boutique
I found this adorable boutique searching the web and immediately fell in love with some of their designs. They are located in College Station, TX and offer incredible clothes for a great price!

Striped Floppy Sun Hat  $28.95
Basic Beauty Tunic $29.95
Need You The Most Tunic $59.95

I just adore these boutiques and have come to find so many incredible treasures. Not just for yourself, but the items at these boutiques would be great Christmas or Birthday gifts too!

First Adoption Meeting Day {04.08.2014}

Today is the day! We are overjoyed, thrilled, and just so very happy to attend our first of many meetings for our adoption process. The meeting starts at 6pm and will end at 8pm and is located in The Woodlands, TX. From what we've read, this meeting will cover all the basics and important details of the entire process, what we can expect, and what we will need to do to be able to adopt. Like I said yesterday, we have so many questions and I’m looking forward to the answers, hoping that they are all positive and that we will feel confident when we leave. We are hoping to leave with all the knowledge and maybe a checklist or two, because as most of you know, I love to plan and with a checklist planning is so easy! We will be sure to take lots of notes and will post about what took place, maybe some of you who are thinking about adopting will get some answers and positive encouragement.

God Bless,

Megan

So Much To Do, Such Little Time {10.14.2013}

So this past weekend was a very, very busy weekend for Erik and I. Let's start with the fact that our electricity went out at 4 am Saturday morning when we had to be up at 7 am. It was so frustrating!!! Erik and I are hot natured so as soon as the electricity kicked off...BOOM...we were WIDE awake. We decided to just try and sleep through it but 30 minutes later our alarms were screaming at us. We got up, got ready, and headed to E's parents house. We jumped in their car and sped off to the BBVA Compass stadium for the University of Houston vs. Memphis football game. It was HOT!!! {That's really an understatement, it was MISERABLY HOT!!!} But we still had a fun time. During halftime, we were able to go down on the field and let the Cougars run through us. That was such a fun moment for the family, we've never done anything like that before! Afterwards, we hoped in the car and drove over to Harwin. Harwin is a place where they sell things at wholesale prices. It's kind of a scary area, but it's so fun! After we left Harwin, we were dropped off at E's parents house and off we went to the Katy Rice Harvest Festival. It was fun but it was a little rainy and so humid. We walked around and checked out the 300 and something vendors. Before leaving we had to get me a Turkey Leg but it was nothing like the Ren Fest Turkey Legs! Speaking of Ren Fest, we can't go until the Halloween weekend because E's mom and I are going to be participating in the Katy Market Day this upcoming weekend so we won't be able to attend Ren Fest this weekend. {Back to this weekend...} So after spending a good hour or so at the Katy Rice Harvest Fest, we went home, kicked back, and relaxed until we were just too tired. Sunday was a lazy day in our house! We didn't get up until 11:30 am!!! {I know, I was shocked myself!!!!} We jumped up, got dressed, and ran out to E's parents house for the Texans game {which was soooo embarrassing to watch but it's E's team so I can't complain}. Sunday night was spent resting and getting E ready for work this morning. Coming up soon is E's 22nd birthday! Last year I threw him a surprise party so I think this year I will try to do something a little more calm. He's not really one to want a party, he just likes spending time with close family and friends. I'm trying to plan something I know he will enjoy, so we will see what I come up. Now, I have to get back to making bows for our craft show this weekend. Looking forward to posting pictures. If you have a baby girl, or two, check out www.squareup.com/market/bayou-baby for baby accessories and bows galore!

Oh and I just have to say, I can't wait to head out to the pumpkin patch this weekend. I just really love pumpkin patch pictures!!! Hope to post some of those this weekend. And did I mention how absolutely excited I am for Christmas?? Oh, it is my favorite time of year!!! I'm already planning gifts and stocking stuffers. I even started buying a few things. I bought two ornaments, one for each of our little fur-babies, and I even bought one for our SweetPea in Heaven, to remind us of our first baby that we lost. We try to buy one ornament each year to symbolize what happened that year and I just knew that I would want to buy something for our first ultrasound picture. (See photos below for ornaments).

Thanks for reading and God Bless

Already Planning! {06.27.2013}

Ok so last year, if you were here in Oct., Erik and I ventured off to the Texas Renaissance Festival. It was filled with lots of good fun!! {Click Here to read about the Tex Ren Fest}So this year, we are only months, like only 4 months away from opening day and {you better believe} I've already started planning our trip. I think Erik and I decided to make the Ren Fest our annual "couple" trip. So last night I was in bed just reading and planning and today I have been counting down the days until Ren Fest. If you've never been to a Ren Fest, you might want to look and see when one is coming around you because they are GREAT!!! Aside from planning for Tex Ren Fest, we are also only days away from moving! I just can't believe it! We still have settled on a place yet, hopefully we will find the one we love that fits our price range. So here's to the search continuing....

God Bless

Oh You Know, Just Doing Things {06.25.2013}

Things have been pretty crazy around our neck of the woods.  We have t-minus 32 days until we move into our new apartment or should I say townhouse! We couldn’t be more excited. The only thing is, we are going from a one bedroom, less than 800 sq. ft. apartment to a three bedroom, more than 1000 sq. ft. townhouse…looks like we are going to have to do some shopping!!! We haven’t started packing quite yet, I think we are waiting until the beginning of July so we can finish collecting boxes and doing other little duties around the house that need to get done before we take on the HUGE challenge of packing. Aside from that, work has been busy and that’s just the way I like it. Erik has been busting tail as well working 12 hour days, 6 days a week! We are steadily getting this summer over with and looking forward to another wonderful Fall! {I know right? I’m already thinking about Fall!!! I can’t help it, Fall is the BEST!!!} Also, I have started a group for young mommies in the Katy and Cypress areas and it’s great because it’s not just for current mommies, it’s for mommies who are trying to have babies and mommies who are pregnant. We are a small group right now but hopefully, over time, we will grow and it will be wonderful because there aren’t too many groups for mommies between the ages of 20 and 25. I am really looking forward to spending time with the mommies as well as getting a baby fix {until I can get pregnant}. Also, I am in the process of becoming the Special Events Chairman at the KHS (Katy Heritage Society). I absolutely love planning events and really anything that requires planning has my name all over it! I am looking forward to planning events like 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and more! I am meeting with the Head of the society this Saturday to discuss what previous Chairmen have done and how the whole thing works. I figured if I spend my free time volunteering, then maybe it will take my mind off of babies until my miracle comes. Not much else going on. My best friends baby shower is next weekend, July 13 which gives me ZERO time left! Crazy how fast time is flying and I can’t wait to see her reaction to the beautiful decorations as well as the tons of baby girl clothes Erik and I have for her. I know she is going to have a blast dressing up baby Alli when she arrives. Oh, I almost forgot to mention how excited I am that Erik and I are thinking about taking a quick trip down to South Padre Island. Not sure when yet, but I am hoping it is before summers end {not that I have a “banging” beach bod} but I would just love a quick getaway from normal, everyday life. {It’s nice to do that every once in a while} Well that’s all I’ve got for now, but I will be updating more as the weeks go by.

P.S. - We have officially ended our blogger updating so... Welcome to our NEW and IMPROVED blog!! Enjoy :)

Thank you for following and God Bless
