FALL FUN {10.19.2015}

This weekend was amazing! For the first time, it actually felt like Fall. Texas hardly ever pays attention to the seasons and just goes with the flow, which is usually hot. But, we were so surprised when we stepped out on Saturday morning to find that it felt great. We woke up around 5:30am, got dressed, and headed out the door for Texas Renaissance Festival. It was a fun-filled day. We got to the Kingdom around 8am and waited for the gates to open at 9am. I tried to Periscope majority of the day, but I also wanted to just enjoy the day. As soon as the gates opened, E and I burst in and headed straight to the introduction site. Right when you walk in, there's a little gazebo where the King will introduce all of the cast members. Then, they do a fun dance, and this year, E and I were both apart of the dance. It was great! We usual run around and try to go to as many shows as possible but this year, we took it easy and just did what we wanted. We walked through different stores, I drank fresh coconut water, E drank beer, we ate the turkey legs and beef jerky, E drank beer, we bought a lotion candle (more on that later), E drank beer, we took pictures with some of the cast that were new this year, E drank beer, and we had to see our favorite show of all time - The Sturdy Beggars. Oh, and I did see Captain Jack but I was not able to get a picture with him this year. I usually always try to get at least one picture with him, but it didn't work out this weekend. E had about six beers and by 1pm was feeling it. Before long, we were both getting tired and figured it was time to go. We managed to get home around 3pm and both passed out. It was so nice getting to sleep. Sunday, we enjoyed church service on the TV, spent most of the day cleaning, went grocery shopping, finished the laundry, and watched our two favorite Sunday night shows - Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Walking Dead. Over all, it was a really amazing weekend.

This upcoming weekend, October 24, we will be heading out to a family reunion. I'm really excited to get to see everyone. Last reunion we were able to go to was in 2012, every year since something has managed to get in the way and hinder us from going. Another thing I'm looking forward to this week is Crossfit! We finally signed up for a class. After our cruise, we kind of lost track and with our busy weekends, it's been hard to get into a groove. Not to mention, E goes to school two nights a week and that makes planning gym days even more difficult. That's why I'm ready for Crossfit. A structured class will really make a difference for us. I can't wait to write about that experience. First Crossfit class is this Wednesday, October 21, the day before E's 24th birthday!!!

OCTOBER BE GOOD TO ME {10.01.2015}

This month, we are busy! That statement seems so easy and nice. Although I know that we will have fun, we are still swamped with things to do. What a blessing that we get to fill every weekend with something new and exciting.

Here's a look at our calendar:

October 3 - Acupuncture
October 4 - Church and day out with nephews
October 10 - Rice Harvest Festival and Fight Night
October 11 - Texas Ren Fest
October 17 - Friend's Engagement Shower
October 18 - Church and Saint Arnold Brewery
October 22 - E's Twenty-Fourth Birthday
October 24 - Family Reunion
October 25 - Church and Baby Alli's Second Birthday Party
October 31 - Halloween

It's funny how it looks so little and so simple, but realistically, it's going to be crazy! Aside from all that, I am loving the weather so far. Texas is not known for Fall weather, really we aren't known for any other weather than hot, but since the start of Fall, I have been pleasantly surprised. There have been a few rainy days but overall, it's been sunny with a breeze. I'm looking forward to the real Fall weather! Being able to wear sweaters, leggings, boots, scarves, I look forward to that, but we probably won't get that sweater-weather until at least mid-November. Good news is, we will be off in Florida for Thanksgiving and last year, we were so surprised at how cold it was.

Additionally, I am so ready for Christmas! Everything about Christmas is amazing. The movies, the gift giving, the lights, tons of craft shows like the Nutcracker Market, and spending time with family. I recently found a fun website that literally counts down to Christmas. How fun? Every now and then, I will head to the website just to see how many days we have left. Check out the website here! As of today, we have 84 days! Ahh!! Have you started buying gifts yet? I haven't, but I have started thinking about what I want to get people, does that count?

WEEKEND RECAP {09.28.2015}

Well, we are just two days away from October and this weekend was a blast. Probably the best way to celebrate the last weekend in September. Friday night we spent time with the family at Willie's Icehouse to celebrate E's mom's birthday. We laughed and enjoyed quality family time. Saturday, E had to go to school to make up for the days he missed while we were cruising, so I spent most of the morning catching up on sleep and then headed off for a pampering session. After a long TTC week, a nice pedicure and nails. This is literally the first time I have gotten short, rounded nails. I usually go for short, square. It's also extremely rare, if ever, that I get a color rather than white tip. Saturday afternoon we headed over to E's parents house to help remodel and "fix it up." His mom has been saying for months that she wanted to finish the guest bath, kitchen, and paint the living room/dining room. I told her that it wasn't going to get done unless we actually did it, so E and I assisted. His mom and I were able to paint the whole living room and dining room in just a few hours. Although we do have several spots to go over since we couldn't reach, but overall, we managed to get it done. E worked with his dad on the guest bath and got quite a lot done. There is just a few more pieces left but they have to measure and cut the wood and it's being extremely difficult. Afterwards, we enjoyed some Chinese food at the dining table together. It was really nice getting to have dinner with E's parents without the TV. Although we were all worn out, it was nice just getting some one-on-one time with them.

Sunday, we woke up and burst out the door for church. Our church is about fifteen minutes from our apartment and it's a nice, country drive. The service was amazing and I was bawling. There was a video of a couple who struggled with infertility, had a miscarriage, and are now blessed with twins. I feel like that was a sign from God. Really and truly. I feel like that message was for me. Not that I have any doubts in Him or His plan, and I certainly am not in the position I was when we experienced our first miscarriage, but after this long week of TTC, the only thing left to do is pray and pray and pray. Pray that this round worked, but more importantly that we will have a healthy baby. Ironically, this isn't the only sign this weekend. Saturday night, we were laying in bed and turned on the TV, first show that came on was SteamPunk'd, mind you we had never seen this show before, but yet the first episode we watched was about baby nurseries. I laughed and looked at E and he knew exactly what I was thinking. After church, we headed home to watch the Texans game, and they won! While E enjoyed the game, I napped in the bedroom. I needed it. I had so much sleep catching up to do from the week prior, so it was really great being able to nap. Later that day we headed to the grocery store, grabbed our My Fit Foods for the next few days and before going to bed, we watched the new season premier of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It really was a wonderful weekend and now I am looking forward to the upcoming weekend. Aside from it being the first weekend in October, we have some fun plans and I can't wait to share them with you.

Pampering - most relaxing two hours ever!
 The color, I'm in love.
 Before the Blood Orange Moon, we got gorgeous sky views. Looked just like a watercolor painting. God can make thing so beautiful!
 Here is the items you'll need for the Mason Jar DIY. Mason Jars, hot glue gun, glue sticks, pile of real or fake leaves, and a mini candle. I decided to use real ones because big Texas trees equals big gorgeous fall leaves.
Here is the final product. I just love the way it turned out and plan on making more. Although I think I may buy some of the fake mini candles, that way I can put these all around the house at night and not have to worry about it burning my house down.

FALL {09.22.2015}

Hard to believe 2015 is just three months from ending. Did anyone else see this year fly by, because I'm not sure where it went? But, it's finally Fall! This is my absolute favorite time of the year. Just the whole time between September through December is just an amazing time. Every time Fall comes around, I celebrate it and try to enjoy every single day. Well, this Fall, even with all the crazy plans we have, I decided I want to make a Fall Bucket List. We more than likely will not be able to complete most of them, but I would like to attempt to do a few of them. Here's the bucket list I found:
Does anyone else have any Fall plans or family traditions? Right now, the only "family tradition" we have, between E and I, is Texas Ren Fest, which as you know, we attend every year. In addition to my bucket list, I want to update my Fall décor so a stop at Hobby Lobby is in my near future. Pinterest is to blame because everyday there is a new Fall décor pin and I just have to have it! *side note: I love Fall but I've never had a Pumpkin Spiced Latte (gasp)*  We wrote, in full detail, about our 2012 Texas Ren Fest experience here!

I'm really excited about the weekend of October 10 & 11 because we have a full weekend of fun Fall events to attend and I can't wait to share them with you. I'll talk about them a little more as the time comes, for now, I will leave you with a few blog posts from years before.

I guess you can say this is my yearly Fall blog post.

A Few Side Details
Erik is still in school, he just started his third year, first semester. Only two and a half years until he will graduate from the program and become a Journeymen. He is definitely looking forward to the end of the semester, like most people in school, but since he is taking CAD this year and not Welding, he doesn't have too many complaints. We are right in the middle of another TTC cycle and although I will not be updating the way that I did at the beginning of the year, I still keep up with everything that I said I would do this round. I will likely make a few OPK posts/cycle updates, and will also do a TTC post around the first week or so in October, just as an informational post. If you are in your TTC journey and want to find out what you can do to better your chances of a BFP, read here. As far as everything else goes, we are immensely blessed in all aspects of our life. God has been very good to us this year and this is the first time, since we moved in together in 2011, that life has just been easy and effortless. Although, it does break my heart that at this point, I would be one month from delivering my second child and, if the first baby would have stayed, I would have a two and a half year old! My only hope is that God will answer our prayers. I pray that 2016 will be our year to welcome our healthy rainbow baby. And, even though I can't wait to write our year in review post for 2015, I am begging the rest of this year to slow down and just let me enjoy the Fall and Christmas time before we are thrown right into Spring.

Happy Fall Y'all!

LET'S TALK LIFE {08.05.2015}

autumn, fall, leavesCan you believe we are in August? This is craziness! The years are flying by and sometimes I find myself coming to the realization that that means I am getting older. Sure, I'm not that old, but I'm also five years, almost six years out of High School. E and I sometimes find ourselves trying to remember our age. We both feel like we are still only 18. I definitely don't feel like we are nine months away from our fourth year of marriage. I don't feel like we've been together for almost six years.

I guess, time really does fly when you're having fun.

When E and I first moved in together, January 14, 2011: Huntsville, TX (I still remember that day like it was yesterday), we had literally $0.00 in our bank account. E had only lived with his roommates in college for one semester. We were just fresh, baby-faced 18 and 19 year olds trying to make it "work." We had to learn how to live together. I had never lived with anyone besides family so this was a huge change for me. The first year we lived together was, to put it in best terms, rough. Aside from not having money, E was in school and I was only able to find a part-time job paying $7.25 an hour. We were barely scraping by. We managed to get approved for government assistance which we only stayed on for about four months, this gave me time to move into the full time position at my job and E had left school to also get a job.

married, marriage, love, sign, happyAt the start of 2012, we were eagerly waiting to get married. By this point in time, we both had new jobs. E was working three jobs making about $250 a month and I was working for Keller Williams Bryan-College Station making about $8.50 an hour working full time. We managed to make it by but we still had our moments where our account was either overdrawn or just plain empty. May 12, 2012, I walked down the aisle, not really knowing where our life was headed. I think we both had our heads in the air. Neither of us knew the trials we would face together, but neither of us expected that even through those trials, we would come out stronger than ever! Immediately after our wedding and "honeymoon," E headed to Houston to live with his parents and start working in the Union. I stayed behind in Bryan, eagerly waiting to rejoin him. After a few months apart, many weekends back and forth traveling, we had finally saved enough money to move into our apartment in Cypress. This would be the start of our trials.

2013 proved to be one of the hardest years ever! In March, my grandmother (who was like my mother and practically raised me) passed away from Stage 5 Cancer. Four weeks later in April, my mother passed away in a total accident. Only 3 months after that, I lost my job, two days after that E's grandmother passed away suddenly in her sleep, and two months after that we miscarried our first baby. Somehow, we managed to come out of all of that darkness. We decided to move away from that apartment and find something new. A brand new start was what we needed.

wood, railing, ship, boat, deck, water, sea
In August 2013, we moved to Katy, where we met in fourth grade. We settled into a gorgeous apartment, I found a wonderful job, and E was just starting school for his Union Pipefitter job. 2014 was our turning point. I managed to find a new, even better job working for Capital One Bank as a Fraud Investigator, we were able to travel. We took a five-day cruise to Mexico, we enjoyed a full week in Las Vegas, and we even headed to Florida for a week during November. After returning from Florida, we decided to start our weight loss journey. I was about 200 pounds, and E was about 300 pounds.

By January 2015, we had both managed to drop about 10 pounds each. We endured another miscarriage, this one much earlier than the first. But we picked up the pieces and kept on. Today, we have managed to lose 35 pounds each, we are days away from another long vacation, we both have really amazing jobs, and I can officially say that we have made a wonderful life for ourselves. We came from $0.00 to being able to afford things and never have to ask for help with bills. We take trips and enjoy each others company by working out together daily. This gives us time to spend together and is my favorite thing, especially because we are both very competitive so we push each other to go further than we thought possible.

pink, roses, flowers, bouquet
All this to say, I love our life. It's not always easy, but it's an interesting ride. I still find it hard to believe that just four years ago, we were in a completely different situation, living a completely opposite life. I don't think that when we lived in Huntsville, I could have envisioned us being where we are today in just four years. So where do we go from here? Well, Christmas is on the way, so there's that. But really, we go up. We climb the ladder and work hard. We are eagerly looking forward to being able to build our first home together. We are eagerly looking forward to all that life will throw our away.

Side note, it's hard to believe that I will be 23 in just a months time, and E will be 24 in two! That's just unbelievable.

Thank you for reading and letting me be "chatty".

May life and God bless you with happiness and even when you go through the dark, may you always find the door to lead you into the light.

God Bless

FALL IS ON THE HORIZON {07.29.2015}

maple leaves, autumn, fall, trees, branches, natureI seriously cannot even believe that August is this Saturday. Not only does the first and second fall on a Saturday and Sunday, but it is also my mom and dad's birthdays. In some ways, I try to celebrate them, I think about what we would be doing for their birthdays if they were alive. But I am blessed to have them both as guardian angels. So this weekend, I will be prepping my house for Fall. For those who don't know, one thing that I love...is FALL! Although Texas doesn't look like a typical Fall, it's still my favorite time. I especially love the Texas Ren Fest. Sure, to some it's probably dumb, but if you haven't had a chance to stop by, you really are missing out. In addition to the TX Ren Fest, who doesn't love all the fun holidays and birthdays! Here is what our schedule looks like for the Fall holidays and birthdays...

August 1&2- My Mom & Dad's Birthdays
September 7- Labor Day
September 9 - My Birthday
September 24- My MIL's Birthday
October 10 through November 29- Texas Renaissance Festival
October 22- Hubby's Birthday
October 30- Little Princess Alli's Birthday
October 31- Halloween
November 21- My FIL's Birthday
November 26- Thanksgiving
December 24- Christmas Eve
December 25- CHRISTmas Day!

pumpkins, orange, halloween
Fall is busy but I love it and it really is the happiest time of the year!

Also, I just love the way the trees have that golden color. Oh and we can't forget the adorable decorations that people put up, specifically pumpkins. They are the cutest things ever. Ladies, get your Pinterest boards ready!!!

 One thing I really want to strive to do this year is make a Fall Bucket List. I think it would be so fun to complete things with the Hubby for Fall. Whose with us? Some of the Bucket List items on my mind are things like: Going to a pumpkin patch, make s'mores outside by a fire, ect. That's all I've got so far, but I will work it and present a really great Fall Bucket List for those that are interested. I think I will even do the Bucket List with a hashtag and add photos to Instagram.

Also, I wanted to chat a little about some of the ladies that I follow on Instagram. So many of them have been receiving their BFPs (Big Fat Positives- on Pregnancy Tests). Babies are such blessing and I love seeing all those positive tests. 2016 will welcome so many little miracles and I just love that each of these special ladies are able to celebrate these Fall holidays with a little miracle baby in their bellies. What a great Christmas gift! Look how wonderful and giving our Lord and Savior is that He would allow so many to enjoy the feeling of their own child growing in their womb on the day that His son, Jesus Christ, was born.

That's all I've got for today, I just felt like writing something short and sweet. Of course I had to give a shout out to the Insta-blessed ladies.

Thank you for reading and God Bless

Clearblue Digital OPK & Weekend Recap {10.12.2014}

It's Glorious Sunday!

Before I went on to my weekend recap, I wanted to share a quick video on the Clearblue Digital OPK test. I know that quite a few are interested in seeing what it looks like and how it works...so here it is!

What I didn't mention in the video is that once you eject the test strip, you can acutely see the blue dye lines like you would with a regular test. I actually like that I am able to see it digitally and regular-style. Here's what it looks like once ejected...
The O on the digital test will last for 8 minutes, the blue dye is on the ejects me test strip. As you can see, the digital read "low/no fertility" (no ovulation) and the blue dye test strip read "negative" as well. I will be taking more tests as my cycle digresses. The next test will be taken on CD 12 which is October 16, and then I will test once a day after that until I run out. Let me know if you have used or plan on using Clearblue digital tests and what you think.

Now, I want to move on to weekend recap as well as some PCOS Diet info. This weekend, we had so much fun! Saturday we woke up and went to the shooting range, then we headed to the Halloween store, and finally we took a stroll around the local festival. Here are some photos.
A girls got to have pink on at all times!
My handsome little black gun!
Walking to the indoor range with our gear on!
Waiting for our target to be hung up so we can get started.
Ready?! Let's go!!!
Me first! My very first time shooting my gun.
Really great shooting for first time! Not a single round missed the circles and I got into the X.
Hubs next! He did great shooting my gun for the first time.
All 50 rounds made it into the circles! Go us!!!
So after shooting we went to the Halloween costume store and E tried on some pretty funny, and even some scary, masks.
So funny! It's the total opposite of my hubs!
After playing around at the Halloween store, we took a stroll around the Katy Rice Harvest Festival.
Today, we started the day at church, praising God for our blessings!

After church, we headed out to Katy Heritage Society since I had a photo shoot with a cute little family. It was so miserably humid, so we tried to wrap up the shoot very quickly. Once the shoot was over, we headed home for some R&R!

I wanted to touch base quickly on my PCOS Diet updates. I've decided that instead of doing updates daily, I would do it weekly and make it a recap.
