Fall is here and so much has happened...where to being!? {10.04.2013}

SINCE OUR LAST POST
Erik and I have been very busy! We moved into our new apartment August 30th. It went smoothly and the new apartment is great! Erik started school and so far, things have been ok. My 21st birthday came and flew by, it was great and so much fun! Dinner with close family and friends is the best! Erik's 22nd birthday is right around the corner, got to start thinking of things he would love to do. Every year I try to do something fun for my hubs to remind him how much he is loved. My best friend, who is expecting a girl, is only days away from having her baby and I can't even begin to tell you how excited we are to meet that sweet little peanut. Hope to post pictures of that sweet peanut soon!

A SAD DISCOVERY THAT HAS CHANGED OUR LIVES
We found out on Sunday, September 29th that we were 9 weeks pregnant. Unfortunately, at our first ultrasound and prenatal visit, the doctor informed us that the baby passed away at 8weeks5days old. It was very difficult yesterday after receiving the news, but we are trying to keep our heads up and be hopeful that we will get pregnant quickly and with a health little bean. Today, as I was walking the dogs back into the house, a butterfly flew in front of me and I immediately had this overwhelming feeling that it was our little Sweetpea angel and it made me smile. A quote that has been helping me through, which I hope will help others going through this, is "An angel in the book of life, wrote down my baby'a name, then whispered as she closed the book, "to beautiful for earth."" That has been such an inspirational quote for me.

WHATS COMING NEXT
I'm hoping that the hubs doesn't have to work tomorrow so we can make a visit to the pumpkin patch. I'd really love to get a pumpkin or two! Then, Ren Fest starts next Saturday and I'm hoping we can go but hubs might have to work...boo!!! I am looking forward to more posts now that I have time, so here's to blogging again!

Thank you for reading and much love,

Megan

Where Have We Been All This Time {08.05.2013}

Alright, I’ll admit it!! We have been gone way too long and I completely apologize for our absence. We have good reasons though! Recently the Richards’ household has been in full swing!!! Erik’s work schedule has been so crazy, working some nights then all day then back to nights then regular…it’s been a mad house with his schedule alone! We were supposed to move out July 31st but then extended our lease one month until the end of August to give us more time to find a place and pack up. I have also been super busy dealing with family issues and we are looking to go to New Orleans this weekend to finalize some personal things. Other than all that, we just couldn't find time to write. But we are back!!! So I thought I would just kick it off with some fun pictures. Chief joined me for work last Friday and we hung sparkly stars in our office so now every time you come in, it looks like prom took over. We are super excited that Fall is here. We can’t wait to decorate and pick pumpkins and just do all that Fall-tastic Fun stuff. My best friend is due late Oct. early Nov. so we are counting down the days until then. I need to post the photos I took of her for her baby shower and maternity pictures. They look fabulous!!! I will try to get them up for y’all soon. We are also counting down the days until Ren Fest. Check out last year’s Ren Fest Here!!! So just a whole lot of fun stuff going on! Oh, I will also be attempting to make my own Deco Mesh Wreath…. We’ll see how this turns out. That’s all I have but I promise to update more frequently now that things are somewhat settling down. Thanks for sticking with us!!!
Chief on the way to work!
He is such a great driver! hehe
Oh sorry, mom is bothering him while he is trying to fall asleep.
Ok good! He finally fell asleep!
Moved and sleeping again!
Moved again and just relaxing!
Our office!!! That's my desk!

A Pirates Life for Me! {05.31.2013}

Last night was “The Night!” Amanda and I went to the Houston Symphony to see the Pirates of the Caribbean and oh my goodness, it was amazing! I don’t even think amazing covers it. It was just spectacular! I have been to symphonies before and they have never really interested me much until this one! I was so impressed by how perfectly timed the orchestra was with the music and, not to mention, they were so crystal clear! Playing just loud enough to hear the beauty of the music, but not so loud that you could still hear the words to the movie. Luckily, I have seen that movie more than 1,000 times {not joking}, so I knew every single line! We didn't stay for the whole movie, after intermission things headed south for us. My feet were killing me after working all day and wearing heels, our butts were getting tired, the seats were actually not comfortable at all, and to make matters worse, there was a scream child down below whose parents did not think to remove him from the hall and a man a few rows behind us was making a very loud clicking noise which was very irritating and distracting. Although we would have loved to stay had it been on Friday night, but I knew I had to work today {staying late too} so I knew it probably wasn’t best to stay through the whole movie. All in all, it was worth the money and even staying for just that 1 hour, we left with a smile, getting excited for the next opportunity to return to the symphony. I am just so glad we went because it was definitely a night to remember! Oh, and we couldn't leave without snapping some pictures…here they are…enjoy!
We were definitely photo-bombed by Amanda's husband, Will!

Yay! Before leaving for Symphony!

Another one...look at her belly!!!! I LOVE it!!!!

More On Another Day {05.17.2013}

HAPPY FRIDAY!

I am happier than a bee on a sunflower… want to know why? Well first off, it’s FRIDAY! Second, Erik and I are going to see the Pirates of the Caribbean at the Houston Symphony…ooohh yeah! I am so excited!!!!! {That’s an understatement –haha}

Recently, I have noticed multiple of my blogger-friends using labels on their blogs. I haven’t used it but once, but I want to start trying to so today I will add a label maybe something like "Friday"? I don’t really know what it does, but it’s worth a try haha

We are getting anxious for our doctor’s appointment, just counting down the days until we find out if we are pregnant. I’ll tell you, after writing our Waiting To Be Three Story article, we both realized just how long the journey has been for us.  I mean sure, we talk about it all the time with ourselves, people we know, friends, family, and occasionally random people we meet, but to actually sit down and write it all out, you start to realize just how far you've really gone. It’s definitely been a crazy ride, one that when it’s over, I will be so glad. And sometimes I wonder what the point of the ride is? I mean if you are like us, you believe in your heart that God controls your life and everything in it and that happens, so why is this happening? We wonder that question frequently but to actually stop and thank him for the journey is one we have a hard time with. We don’t think about the lessons he has taught us throughout the journey, and I must say, if it wasn't for Him and his grand plan, we wouldn't and couldn't be where we are today. We are happy! And I really believe that once we do get pregnant it will make it that much more amazing because of this journey we have been set on. So with every day that passes, I am praying we are praying that He will grant us the miracle of a baby, maybe even two if we get extra lucky. We have a miniature countdown going on at our house (a countdown to the doctor’s appointment), and I wanted to add one on the blog for those of you who follow us religiously so if you look to the right underneath our “About Us” information, you will see the baby countdown taking place.

My best friends birthday is this Sunday, and we are going to their house on Saturday for her party. I can't wait to see her. It's literally been almost a month since we have hung out....I know right?!?! So guess who gets to do some shopping -ME!!- I get to shop for some awesome presents for her...I can't wait! I will try to post pictures on Sunday from her party.

That’s all I have for today but I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and I look forward to sharing more another day.

God Bless
