Been Gone Too Long {02.21.2013}

Happy Been-Gone-Too-Lone Thursday!

Let me first apologize for my tardiness. I have been so ridiculously busy with…. MY NEW JOB POSITION!! That’s right! I know I was supposed to announce the big news last week but as soon as I got the promotion, I have been running around like crazy!! So, you are now reading posts from an Editorial Coordinator. So forgive me for being gone too long.
Recently, I reconnected with a girl I cheered with in High School. She was a grade higher than me but we cheered on the same team for 2 years in a row before she graduated. Amanda is now married to a wonderful and truly sweet man named William. We have hung out twice, once on Valentine’s night at dinner, and this past weekend. We decided to try out Main Event, a massive game/entertainment place with bowling, laser tag, gravity ropes, games, and full bar. It was so exciting!! We didn’t stay long, maybe a few hours but it was a good time with good people.
Currently we are looking to buy a home. It’s kind of stressful though because neither one of us have real credit history… We are looking at townhomes and rental homes and have found quite a few that we really like and can afford with more than just one bedroom. We also received our health insurance card which means we can start getting serious about babies. We aren’t going to exhaust ourselves trying to get pregnant but it is important to us.
Other than that, not much else is going on, just working hard and getting ready for our One Year anniversary in May. We hope to take trip but have not made any plans yet.
Our little fur-babies are doing great! They are as cute as ever! I’m looking for another opportunity to take pictures of them, but I think I might have to wait until Easter since I didn’t get any for Valentine’s Day. We recently attended a beautiful wedding for a co-worker of mine. Her wedding was just beautiful! I didn’t get very many pictures due to my phones deciding to die but I did get flowers that she used as centerpieces and they are sitting on my living room table. We also recently bought new all white bedding {Luckily the dogs don’t sleep with us anymore}. I love the bedding, it’s Tommy Hilfiger and it’s soooo soft and WHITE! I was freaking out at first because white and I do not get along, but so far so good!

God Bless & Great News! {02.07.2013}

Happy Thursday!

I feel so terrible that I haven’t updated in a while but I have some good news and  then I have some really good news! Let me start with the fact that Erik and I finally started looking at houses in the Katy area! {Woo Hoo!} We are in love a few neighborhoods but after what happened to us last year {I’ll get to that at another time}, Erik is still a little nervous when it comes to house shopping. Luckily I managed to talk him into it, and we found a few that we love! But we aren’t going to get our hopes up about buying a house, because either way, once our lease is over, we are moving to Katy {Yes, we have been looking at both houses to buy and rent}. So that was my good news…now on to my GREAT NEWS!!!! I currently work for an amazing local magazine and honestly, I LOVE MY JOB! I have never ever ever ever loved a job before. {No really, NEVER!} But as soon as I stepped foot in the magazine business doors, I knew immediately that I would love it. Yes we are a full office of women, but my boss’s husband and our previous photographer are men, so it was a good balance. And yes, we do get attitudinal on occasions, but luckily everyone has been super easy to get along with, which you don’t find at most businesses. So anyway, every single employee at the magazine has a 90 day review. It’s just part of the company policies. My 90 day review is scheduled for tomorrow, 02.08.2013 on my 90 day anniversary. I have been totally nervous about it, not because I did anything wrong, but because it’s a review and most employees only want to hear good things. Well, on Tuesday, my boss paged me to visit with her in her office with my manager. At this point, I start FREAKING OUT! I’m replaying my actions, thoughts, words, movements, EVERYTHING. {If you want to know why, it’s because my 90 day review is with the same two people and I thought “OMG, I am not prepared, I thought they said Friday not TUESDAY. I’m not prepared!!!”} Turns out, it was good stuff. Not a single bad thing was said. It wasn’t my 90 day review, that is still scheduled for tomorrow, but it was really good news. {No, I’m not going to disclose the good news until tomorrow. Reason is, I want to be respectful and wait until my boss gives me the “Ok” and final approval.} But it truly is good news. All in all I have to say that God has truly shown us His presence in both mine and Erik’s life as individuals but also as a couple. He has been such a wonderful God and I must give all my praises to Him for without Him, Erik and I couldn’t possibly have the things we have or be where we are. I’m looking forward to a wonderful weekend – a relaxing weekend! I finally get to get my toes done which is so nice…spa day-yay!! Oh and I look forward to Valentine’s Day… what are you getting your sweetheart???

I hope you all have a wonderful night and I can’t wait to spread the BIG news tomorrow!

Super Bowl Weekend Double Down On Brotherly Love! {02.01.2013}

Happy Friday February First Fabulous Friends!
Wow, Friday got here fast don’t you agree? I don’t know about you, but I know I am so happy that it’s here.  Last night, I got my rings back and they look stunning! I was almost to the point of tears {you would’ve thought Erik asked for my hand in marriage again-hehe!}
 I have been waiting for today because I’m supposed to be able to apply for benefits but the “ok” button hasn’t shown up yet…. Hopefully by Monday I will be enrolled and ready to go! This weekend, I am getting my nails done {yay!} and then Erik and I have an appointment, after church on Sunday, to tour Texas Women’s Hospital. I wanted to wait and see if I liked the Hospital before I chose my OBGYN. I know, I know, I’m not pregnant but if I do become pregnant this year, I want to be able to have the Hospital picked out so that way I don’t have to tour it later. Not to mention, it’s where they OBGYN that I like works, so if I don’t like the Hospital, I don’t choose him and I look for a different OBGYN.
I started inviting people to my 21st Birthday. Someone told me that you aren’t supposed to throw a party for yourself but, technically, I’m not… my husband is. I’m just doing all the work because if I left it up to him, he would make the theme football and the whole thing would be about watching, playing, talking and reading about football. I wouldn’t be surprised if the food was football related. He’s a guy and guy’s just don’t pay attention to details like girls do. And I’m a DIY type of girl! I pretty much DIYed my whole wedding and it turned out beautifully. The decorations didn’t take away from the beauty of the venue which is exactly what I wanted. This birthday party though will be very exciting because I found the perfect beach house for my perfect party. The party will take place in Galveston, TX on the balcony of a beach house that is literally 50-100 feet from the water, which means we are going to get amazing views of the ocean during the party! I just wish Galveston was a pretty blue and not a depressed brown color. I guess a beach is a beach regardless of color but I will NOT be going in the water! It freaks me out not being able to see the bottom. I refuse! Now if I have like an inner-tube and can just float on that without touching the bottom, then we are good! J I know, I’m picky but I can’t help it. I don’t know what’s on the bottom of the ocean, could be sharp glass, a mean crab that wants to bite me, or a shark! Yes I am one of those people who are terrified the whole time I am in the water about a shark attacking me! {I guess you can say I have seen Jaws one to many times-hehe}
Not much else is going on this weekend, I am looking forward to Valentine’s day with my Husband especially since this will be the FIRST Valentine’s day with him as my husband. So exciting J
Oh my goodness, I almost forgot, Erik and I were studying my ring last night and we discovered the craziest thing! (Refer to the picture belowJ) My rings have 5 medium diamonds and 12 small diamonds. Ironically; we were married on the 12th of May -> 5/12 = 5 med. diamonds/12 sm. Diamonds {Coincidence or Fate? I think FATE!!} And the 1 large diamond on my engagement ring symbolizes us coming together as one on our wedding day! Weird!!!!!!! J

Well that just about does it for me! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and please be safe this Super Bowl weekend!
{See how I made the "Super Bowl" the colors of the two teams? Yah I know it's not that impressive but hey it's cute!}
